First one is from 'Paths of Glory' by Jeffrey Archer.
"Was Finch right when he had suggested that at some time George would have to decide between them? No choice was neccesary at the moment, thought George, as both ladies in question were studiously ignoring him." From Page: 120.
The second one comes from 'The White Tiger'by Aravind Adiga.
"The car stopped half a foot in front of me, with a screech of burning rubber. I cringed: how my poor tyres had suffered, because of this woman." From Page: 162
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! Share the title & author, too, so that others can add the book to their TBR Lists!
Please leave a comment with the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays, so that I can check them too! Thanks
Those are both great teasers! Thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteHello Jyoti,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my site, it's always nice to 'meet' new people in the blogosphere.
Jeffrey Archer is always good for some light hearted reading, between more weighty reads. His plots tend to be a bit basic I have found, but his characters tend to be quite well developed. The teaser lines were great fun.
'The White Tiger', is a book I have been meaning to read, but just never got round to. The teaser lines probably don't portray the emotions I'm sure this book will evoke. Just reading the synopsis made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. A book that needs to be read thoroughly and quietly, I should think.
Thanks for reminding me to add this to my wish list.
Yvonne
A love triangle that only one person is aware of? :-p
